Our Early Years Curriculum.

Our curriculum in Nursery and Reception has been developed to ensure that children reach their full potential. We have planned a curriculum which has been based upon the findings of 'Bold Beginnings'. It incorporates skill development that is appropriate for the age of the child and prepares them to develop their fine motor skills in preparation for writing. We also focus on developing children's reading and mathematical skills.

In order to develop a creative curriculum, we enhance provision and based other areas of learning upon children's interests. This is gathered through daily observations of children. We feel that children are fully engaged in learning that they are interested in and begin to apply skills which have been taught through child-initiated play.

If you have any further questions about our curriculum, please don't hesitate to contact the school office and speak to our Early Years Leader, Miss Peers.

Please see below the yearly overview of how the objective of the new Early Years Reforms (2020) are being implemented into our curriculum this year in Reception class.

Please see below our half-termly plans for Reception class. These are built upon and are reflective of children's interests. Additional enhancements are placed into provision following observations of children's interests to encourage the use and support child-led learning through play.
